For 75 Years, Harley Haddow has been delivering sustainable design, civil and structural engineering solutions throughout Scotland.
Over the decades, Harley Haddow had built up records of Microfilm – 35mm and 16mm roll films. There is a requirement to access these records as and when required. With the increasing cost of maintaining a microfilm viewer as well as the requirement to control the environmental factors microfilm is kept in, the decision was taken to explore options to digitise these essential historical records.
Greyscale Document Digitisation (Greyscale Ltd) provides tailored scanning, digitisation, data extraction and digital preservation of these microfilm records.
Records retention legislation ensures data needs to be kept for the life of the building it refers to:
• Collection from busy city centre offices.
• Scanning of microfilm roll films to multipage pdf digital files.
• Indexing and naming conventions to ensure accurate and efficient access to requested data.
• Physical roll films returned to client for archive storage, while digital records remain as primary point of referral for all search requirements.
